Hey there, fellow culture enthusiasts! Imagine this - sitting down with your parents and uncle for the very first podcast, expecting a casual chat, but finding yourself embarking on a mind-blowing journey through generations of tradition and wisdom. šŸ˜„šŸŽ™ļø

The Family Talk Show Begins!

So, there I was, mic in hand, ready to dive into the unknown world of podcasting with my very own kin. Little did I know that this experience would transform into a crash course on our cultural values and protocols, straight from the roots of our heritage. With my parents and uncle as the guest stars, the stage was set for a rollercoaster of insights and laughs.

Lessons in Cultural Protocols and Traditions 🌟

As the recording began, our outdoor improv environment (Calgary Stampede) turned into a captivating classroom of life lessons. My parents and uncle shared tales from their childhood—a treasure trove of cultural protocols that I could never have imagined. From the proper way to greet elders to the significance of traditional ceremonies, I was like a sponge soaking up every drop of shared wisdom.

Sundance, Then and Now šŸŒž

One topic that particularly caught my attention was the differences in the Sundance ceremony from their childhood to the present day. This sacred tradition's evolution over time reflected societal changes and highlighted the unbreakable bond between past and present. Their stories painted a vivid picture of time-honoured rituals and the deep-rooted spirituality that binds us all together.

Thinking in Siksika šŸ’¬

And then, something magical happened. With every anecdote and every lesson learned, I began to think in Siksika. The words of my ancestors echoed in my mind, guiding me through a world infused with ancient wisdom and modern insights. It was like a light bulb switching on in a dark room, illuminating the path of my cultural identity in ways I had never experienced before.

So there you have it, folks! My first podcast with my parents and uncle was more than just a recording session; it was a soul-enriching journey through time, tradition, and family ties. Remember, our cultural heritage is not just a link to the past; it's a beacon guiding us into the future. 🌌

Podcast Memories

Now, go forth and cherish your own cultural treasures, for they hold the key to a world of endless possibilities and profound connections!

Cheers to family, culture, and the endless adventures that await us!

(Note: This blog post is inspired by the experience of my first podcast with my parents and uncle, where I learned invaluable cultural lessons and began to think in Siksika.)
